The Jewish Federation is pleased to announce that Alma Lakin will be the recipient of the prestigious Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland Award. The award will be presented at a ceremony on September 10 as part of the Lion of Judah Conference in Washington, D.C.

The Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland Award is presented by United Jewish Communities to those individuals who represent the highest ideals of community service, leadership and mentoring.  Alma Lakin, past women's division chair, general campaign chair, first women to serve as Federation president, and instrumental in the establishment of the Lion of Judah Division in Reading, personifies these ideals.
