Using the methods of Jewish textual study, we will examine the Declaration of Independence – a seminal American text - unearth the meaning of the words, elevate their implications, and wrestle with the contradictions posed.  We will discuss the intentions of our founders and the impact of their words on us today, allowing us each to derive our own meaning.
