The Holocaust Library and Resource Center at Albright College was established by the Jewish Federation of Reading and dedicated in April of 1993. The mission of the Holocaust Library and Resource Center is to provide community awareness, information, audio-visual support and education about the Holocaust to prevent this tragic event from happening again. The educational community of Berks County is provided with resources; i.e. speakers and workshops necessary to teach the Holocaust to their students. The Center also works closely with local religious institutions and community groups in their presentation of Holocaust programs.
The collection, housed in the Resource Center and the Albright College Library at large, consists of over 1770 different titles and more than 250 videos, sound and computer titles dealing with all aspects of the rise of Nazi Germany, World War II, and the Holocaust, as well as over three dozen taped interviews with survivors and liberators.
