After many years of educating our children and those of our friends and neighbors, the Lakin Preschool is transitioning: the school will close at the end of this school year (June 2025) and form a strategic alliance with the Yocum Institute for Arts Education.

The Jewish Federation's Lakin Preschool provides preschool programming for toddlers age 2 to children in PreK Plus up to age 6. We are conveniently located at 555 Warwick Drive in Wyomissing, in the shared space of the education wing housed within the Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom/Kesher Zion Synagogue building.
We believe children are individuals with varied interests and personalities, different developmental timetables, and diverse learning styles. For over 50 years, Lakin Preschool has built a reputation as a center of excellence for preschool education, where we emphasize self-confidence, independence, cooperation, and problem-solving skills. The value of good deeds, caring for one another, and education are reinforced in all of our classes.
While our program integrates Jewish holidays and traditions, we welcome children of all backgrounds and religions.
